Celebrating Print, Creativity and Connection
About Printfest
Printfest has been bringing printmakers to Ulverston, Cumbria, since 2001. Founded by local artists, the festival has grown into one of the UK’s leading artist-led printmaking events, welcoming artists and visitors from across the UK and beyond while remaining true to its purpose: celebrating printmaking, supporting artists and inspiring new audiences.
Joining the team
Lil Creative Studio joined the Printfest team in 2026. Rather than arriving with plans for a complete redesign, our first year has been spent understanding the organisation, its audiences and the many people who have shaped the festival over the past 25 years. Respecting that legacy was an essential first step before considering how the brand might evolve.
More than an exhibition
Printfest is far more than a weekend exhibition. It brings together artists, collectors, students, volunteers and visitors through exhibitions, talks, workshops and community activities. Its education programme introduces hundreds of local children to printmaking each year, helping make the arts more accessible and encouraging new generations of creative talent.
Supporting the festival
Throughout the year, we worked across the festival’s communications, producing the catalogue, posters, flyers, advertising, signage, website updates and Ulverston Fringe materials. Our role was to strengthen consistency and clarity while building a deeper understanding of the organisation and its audiences.
Looking ahead
As our partnership continues, we are beginning a phased evolution of the festival’s communications. Together with the Printfest team, we’re improving accessibility, user experience and sustainability across both digital and printed materials, ensuring the festival remains relevant, resilient and inspiring for years to come.
The impact
Printfest’s success is measured not only by visitors or artwork sales, but by the opportunities it creates: artists sharing their work, young people discovering printmaking, and communities coming together through creativity. We’re proud to help support that ongoing story.
