Julie Barton was installed as High Sheriff of Cumbria in March of 2020. Unfortunately the timing coincided with the Covid-19 lockdown, and instead of a big ceremony at Barrow-in-Furness Town Hall it was an intimate event with all the guests attending virtually.

Julie is the first High Sheriff of Cumbria from the Furness region, and has taken over from Marcia Reid-Fotheringham, Cumbria’s first black High Sheriff.

The voluntary role of High Sheriff is appointed each year by the Queen. The job description includes attending openings and ceremonies, as well as focusing on a cause to highlight. For 2020/2021 Julie is focusing on “Social Isolation and Loneliness” in Cumbria. And with current events Julie has acknowledged “the need to support the lonely is even greater”.

I have worked with Julie before and she is a lovely client. Julie requested the website be clean, minimal and friendly. The website is designed to showcase all areas of Cumbria; from the stunning landscape and tourist attractions, through to agriculture, business and industry.

I have worked with Claire on many different projects and always found her to be very knowledgeable, patient, and friendly. She has a flair for listening and creatively developing customers’ ideas.  I highly recommend Lil Creative Studio.
