The Cumbria Local History Federation (CLHF) brings together local history societies, related groups and individuals in Cumbria. They promote the interchange of information about activities and events. Additionally, the Federation provides a forum for liaison, a means of cooperation and a capacity for county-wide activities.
The CLHF was formed in 1992 by a group of organisations and individuals keen to provide a focus in the County for local historians and local societies. The role of the CLHF is primarily in communication and information, promoting its member societies and their work, providing a means of co-operation and the exchange of ideas, and connecting its members with relevant resources and information. Where appropriate, the CLHF provides publications and organises events.
Back in April the CLHF commissioned Lil’ Creative Studio to redesign their website. They wanted a site that would provide the information needed to their member societies clearly and concisely as well as attracting interest in the history of Cumbria locally and abroad. Along the way the decision was taken to redesign their logotype. A compass that connects the four corners of Cumbria; the North, the South, the East and the West.
